Pine Car Derby
Frannie,
Yes, there are specific rules for our Grand National Pine Car Derby. But if you are doing a pine car derby for your own church, you get to decide on the final rules for your race. However, if you plan to send your top cars to the Grand National, I would suggest that you follow our rules for constructing the cars so that the same cars could qualify for the Grand National Race.
To see what the rules are for our National race, go here.
To download our free derby planning guide to help you plan your own pine car derby, go here.

I'm just wondering if there are any rules and restrictions for building the pine cars? And, if so, is there a downloadable copy of said specifications?
Thank you,

Tammy, Yes a child can be awarded the Platinum Crown award, even if they have not earned any of the previous Crowns. All of the Crowns are earned independently from each other. And it doesn't matter which order they earn the Crowns in. Obviously though, in most cases, they would have to earn the Bronze, Silver, and Gold crowns to get the Triple Crown Award (see the exception on page 12 of the Ambassadors Leader Guide). But if they earned all four crowns, they would be eligible for the Ambassadors Award. |

I realize each Church can make their own decision however I am trying to get clarifcation on the programs intent. On the awards page there is a statment "Earning 15 additional badges from this section will earn you the Platinum Crown award when you graduate from Club"
If a child enters the program in the last year can they earn the Platinum Crown with out earning any of the other crowns?

Cost of Badges and Vests
Our program has the kids bring in 50 cents each week. This covers the cost of their badges and other supplies nicely while making it easy on everyone's wallet. We do not use the standard vests, but use Master Clubs t-shirts as uniforms.
We also have what we call "honor books" in which the kids' badges are displayed (instead of on a vest). The books are just 3-ring binders: we put the children's names on the covers, and inside the binders we tape the badges on a cardstock paper inside clear sheet protectors. This way the kids can still display their badges during award ceremonies & take them home at the end of the year. No one worries about a badge being lost, falling off, etc. It has been nice to see the kids' books fill up! |

Tammy,
Yes, you could use this program without the badges; however, the badges are pictured throughout the curriculum. Are you asking this question because you are at a church that is outside the USA? If so, I would be very happy to talk to you about some of the ideas that other international Club churches are doing to keep shipping costs down.
If that is not the case, take a look at the following link. It shows you how you can supply all of the Master Clubs materials to your children for about $9 per Clubber per year with a little parental help. See www.masterclubs.org/cost.

Our game time is different for sure. We do seprate the Lambs/Lookouts from the Ambassodors. However we are in the same room. While one group is doing "active" games the other group is doing bible drills. Also once a month we have a craft night instead of games. Its done together as a group. The kids love the change and it breaks up from the usual club night. Just thought I would share! |

Could Masters Club be used with out the badges. We could award them with the certificate and ribbons. I am just trying to see what would be the smallest way to get into this without so much cost. |

When Will the results for The 1st contest be up?
Thank you for your post. As soon as we have the entries judged, we will post the results. Right now, we are in the process of sorting the entries. We do not have a projected date set, but I would expect that the results should be posted in the next two weeks. Mailbox 1 takes a little more time for us to judge with our Loving and Leading Conference in the mix. If you would like to send your email address to me at edward@masterclubs.org, I would be happy to send you a personal email once the results are in!

Combined Game Time
This idea was sent to us by Sue Smith of Westside Baptist Church in Mansfield, OH.
Something we do in Master Clubs occasionally in the warmer months – May through September. Normally the primaries have game time while the juniors are having bible time and then we switch but sometimes in the warmer months we combine the game time and bible time which changes the dynamic of the program. |

Valarie, good question. Since you will not be using Club in the summer, you could use the Adventure center pages for your over-acheivers to have some extra book work if they happen to finish before the other Clubbers. You could also use them as activity pages for your special Club nights, like your Christmas party night, or the last night of Club for the year. You could also opt not to use the Adventure Center pages at all. The choice is yours.
Let me know if I can help more.

I am new to Master Club, in fact, our first meeting was last Sunday night. The Adventure center pages in the back of the Spotter and Scout books do not have directions. When are these to be assigned? We are not planning to do club in the summer.
Thank you! |
